Position Overview:
Warm Springs Health and Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a contractual basis. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in improving the healthcare outcomes of the American Indian and Alaska Native patient population we serve. This position demands a commitment to providing family-oriented primary medical care services, enhancing the health and well-being of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Nursing Support: Deliver nursing support to medical providers, ensuring the nursing process is effectively applied in patient treatment. Assist both patients and clinic staff in-person and via telephone, fostering a culture of exceptional customer service.
Patient Education and Documentation: Provide patient education, ensuring all interactions are documented within 24 hours. Demonstrate excellent time management, prioritize effectively, and maintain diligent follow-up on phone messages and patient coordination.
Proactive Engagement: Actively monitor the walk-in schedule, assist the triage nurse, and participate in the planning and coordination of patient care. Ensure communication with patients regarding referrals is initiated within 14 days.
Clinical Skills: Conduct preliminary health assessments, recognize normal and abnormal findings, and make appropriate referrals. Administer medications, assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and manage patient care electronically using various healthcare systems.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with allied health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for patients, addressing medical, psychological, and social needs.
Working Conditions:
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., not exceeding 40 hours per week. The clinic observes federally recognized holidays and may close due to executive orders or inclement weather, with timely notice provided.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Register Nurse contractor shall maintain the following qualifications as a minimum:
Degree: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant
Licensure: Applicants must have an active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Current training: Basic Life Support (BLS) and, preferably, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
